I was lucky here we got several inches of rain winds about 30 miles an hour but nothing too bad I had one dead pine tree fall across the road I had to get out my tractor and clear the road other than that we were very lucky where I'm at

I have a late start and decided to have my bowstring replaced. Went to the range yesterday during my lunch break.

Considering anything past 20 yards is a blur (I forgot to wear contact on my right eye), I thought the session went well. It took me longer to wax the string than the actual shots, very pleased with it.

Good job. Haven't even slung an arrow yet. Bear hunt starts Sept 14th. Better get moving eh

Luckily bear baits are around 20 yards. Getting started this morning. Love these cool mornings.

I just did a last minute fletched/bare shafttune at 20yrds and finally got em both flying perfectly at 20 yards. Leaving September 5th for a 15 day Idaho backpack elk hunt, so pumped!!!!

Wife said " Like riding a bike" after I finished flinging a dozen arrows into my 4x4 target. Maybe it is but I got lucky this year. Usually it takes a couple weeks to get tuned in to shooting 2" groups consistently. This year my first dozen arrows were easily that close. Tomorrow may be different. Even at 40 yards today i was doing great. Never happens this way in typical years. Especially being 2020. Nothing's gone right this year. Maybe things are looking up. Good luck all you stick and stringers. Shoot straight and fill those tags.

I shoot from a stool. It's how I shoot from a treestand. I'm able to turn 45° each way and shoot. It's about the most I can turn in any direction in my stand. On elk, mule deer or antelope hunts, when spot and stalk are more likely, i will get more interactive in shooting positions. Tree stand bear hunts are pretty much shooting at a stationary target at a known distance 20 yards from the set. It's getting the bear there while I'm in the tree that's the challenge.

Yeah I guess it's about that time. I need to get my bow out myself.

I need to get out and shoot a little myself but I've actually only hunted once during archery season in the last five years mainly due to the hot temperatures and ticks I've had Rocky Mountain spotted fever once and it is the sickest that I have ever been in my life not looking to do that again

Treat you clothes (especially boots, socks, and pants) with permethrin prior to hunting

Oh I'm on it believe me Rocky Mountain spotted fever is something you only do once if possible

We have ticks here in my home state also. There bad in spring months. I brought home several in my clothing from a fishing trip this past May. Had one start into my neck and left a pretty nasty bloody hole where it started burrowing in. Got it in time but never felt it till I felt the blood running down my neck. Lime disease is the only thing I've ever heard about from ticks. I've heard of Rocky Mountain spotted fever but didn't know it was a tick related thing. Now after reading about it, I realize it is.

Trust me you do not want it I have never been so sick in my life fever stomach cramps muscle aches no appetite nausea vomiting I lost 36 pounds in 32 days
