Aussie hunter so long that its aussie 4350 meaning hodgdon. Your 2650 300 with the right bullet will for sure take a cape buffalo. I get 2550 with 300 in a 375 brown whelen 24" and I would sure hunt buffalo with it.
Of course. We use our locally produced ADI powder which is exported as Hodgson and is fairly temperature stable. I've seen guys develop 375 loads with 760 here, down south in the cooler areas, only to find them too hot when taken to the Northern Territory to hunt buffalo. I've taken many buff here with my 375, and a couple in Africa.Aussie hunter so long that its aussie 4350 meaning hodgdon. Your 2650 300 with the right bullet will for sure take a cape buffalo. That's good to hear, but not everyone has been so lucky. I've stuck with 2209 myself for 270-300 weights and had great results. I really like the Woodleigh 350gr PP for big buff. For Africa I managed to get the 300 RN, 300 PP, and 300 FMJ to shoot to the same POI with a bit of mucking around with charges.Hey Steve, I never had an issue using 760 up north in the 375 Bee. 90 gr with 300gr Wodleigh's worked a treat.
Cheers.
Yep, I work up loads in the heat of summer, no nasty surprises that way. That's good to hear, but not everyone has been so lucky. I've stuck with 2209 myself for 270-300 weights and had great results. That's the ticket. My most used rifle in the NT by far is the 458 Lott, but we're derailing the thread now.Yep, I work up loads in the heat of summer, no nasty surprises that way.
Funny, I only use 2 powders in my 375 Bee, 2209 and 760. The 260gr Accubond @ 2950fps thumps everything it touches. Had them as high as 3000fps, but the brass didn't cope with that level of pressure, pockets were toast by 2 firings.
Never tried the 350's, don't need them when you got a 416 Rigby next to the Bee loaded with Woodleigh 410gr RNSP @ 2530fps.
Cheers.
