1st LOADs ever.....

Are you throwing right off the Chargemaster or do you have another scale ? It can +/- up 0.2 grains or more. The straw trick or orifices help a lot;
I have used the chargemaster, then I have two digital scales to confirm accuracy of the charge. Thanks for the tip. I will check it out!!!

I did it when I loaded for the first time and my gunsmith/hunting buddy just laughed and said that happens all the time!

I recently setup my own station also and loaded my first rounds start to finish. My brother always took care of the hard stuff before I showed up.
It's super rewarding and glad you are also enjoying it.
I also put the first one to my ear and gave it a shake. Lol still do sometimes just because.

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Nice looking set up. I still remember when I started loading 50 years ago. Loaded shot shells to duck hunt, then a couple of years later started to load ammo for fox hunting. At that time piers were big money and I would load Speer FMJ bullets in my .243 to reduce pelt damage. That was about the last store bought ammo I shot.

As stated earlier loading takes full concentration music is ok but phone calls go to voicemail. If you take a break stop at a break point like when your batch of brass is all sized, or trimmed, or primed etc.

Good shooting and enjoy the ride. I have for many years and hope for many more.

**** spell check pelts were big money not piers.

We were all proud when we finished our first batch of loads, then fired them at the range, and especially proud when we harvested our first animal with them.
I started loading 35 years ago, but my process and results (as well as the expense) took a quantum leap after I started reading this forum and paying attention to all the details possible.
My advice: decide what your objectives are, then incorporate only the techniques, components, and equipment needed to meet your objectives. You can go crazy, and broke, trying to perpetually improve accuracy at longer and longer ranges.

I am 100% new to reloading. I received my 6.5 SAUM from GAP recently after a long, but worthwhile wait. After a ton of conversations with @sedancowboy and his incredible generous guidance, and also that of a close friend who also loads 6.5 SAUM, I loaded my first rounds. Probably not a huge milestone for many, but it is rewarding for certain. I am excited for the journey. Once the weather breaks and the winds lie down, I will be headed to the range with my new Labradar. Updates to come for certain.

Thanks again @sedancowboy. I have learned so much from you in such a short amount of time.

Looks good , I would recommend the trigger device for your labradar ! It corrects lot of error messages and is inexpensive

I've used the straw method and a reprograming for speed and the Chargemaster became very accurate. probably only have to adjust 2-4 loads in a 100.

It's a good feeling isn't it? This site makes it a smoother course and lots of help. Good luck at the range with cartridges you produced, wait till you get it dialed in and making ragged holes :)

My bench looked that way 40 years ago. Be prepared to add LOTS more to your loading

Go online to panhandle precision they an answer any questions you have and provide a lot of excellent information !

Ditto on Panhandle Precision. Sam is the most thorough and professional on utube. I really like how logically organized he does things. Sam also keeps things grounded and keeps you from chasing down rabbit holes. Another one I like is Gavin Toobe. He is as good professionally as Sam but way more techy.

You have entered a new and exciting stage of your shooting/hunting future. Nothing like building you own bullets and seeing the results.
PLEASE post pictures of your first animal with YOUR handloads.
CONGRATULATIONS and YAHOO!!!!!!!!
