Help me with Glass

I've been a glass enthusiast for yrs.....and I don't mean to answer your question with an answer that's not any help but here goes.
I've owned almost every major brand and have arrived at one conclusion: don't skimp on the glass. If u are having a custom rifle built it's a real investment. U want to end up with something that performs and makes u happy.
I have two customs and they both went through a lower priced scope before ending up with what i like. Now while both are above the 2k budget I found both at demo pricing that brought them down close enough to consider if I were u. Of course u have to find them as demos. First is Swarovski Z8i 2.3-18x56. Followed by Schmidt & Bender Exos 3-21x50. Both illuminated reticles and dialing turrets. I can honestly say after owning dozens and looking through hundreds of high end scopes, that these two are the best I've seen. Clarity and brightness are unmatched and very rugged. The S&B is a bit heavier at just over 30oz. Unless u are in a time crunch or just not able for whatever reason, I'd consider these two. I can say that every scope I've owned from those two co.s have been excellent. But they both hit it out of the park with their recent top end models.

I've got a rifle currently being built by Beanland Customs and wondering what everyone likes for a scope. Going to practice on shooting out to around 800 yards. Max budget is about $2k. The cartridge is a 7 Remington Magnum this will be primarily a hunting rifle.

When I see this question pop up, I am compelled to offer Leica as an option. I do not see a lot of them on the ranges or in the field, though their lenses are the gold standard in photography and their build quality is top-drawer. Image clarity is amazing, low light performance exceptional, and as weather-proof as they come. Among my Trijicon, Leupold and SchmidtBender rifle scopes, I would buy this scope again even if it cost more - it's delivered exceptional value - I am 100% satisfied with my Leica. I have a last gen. model ER with BDC reticle 2.5-10x42 - this configuration is no longer offered. Leica has refreshed their line with exposed turret models and the PRS line that may increase their market penetration if any top shooters are seen winning with them. The Amplus line is most like my ER and probably more suited to your hunting needs. How many rifles are you going to have for use, that's a consideration too, it adds up real fast, the more fire sticks you have?

EuroOptics has Demo and sale pricing on S&B scopes right now. I've bought from them and own several S&Bs. For a hunting scope their glass is outstanding.

I just got my Beanland 7mm RM this week. You are going to want a scope that lets all the potential accuracy show from your rifle. I put a NF NXS 4.5-22 zerostop on mine. Your rifle is going to really shoot! First 3 shot group was .35 inches in 10-20 mph gusting wind and I am a hunting type shooter not one of the competition guys on here. Those were shots 4-6 so not even close to broken in yet. I have had and used most all of the scopes discussed here but the March. Nightforce has been bullet proof for me with great tracking and excellent dawn/dusk visibility of game animals. I stopped buying the other brands once I used the NF's. I am sure some do things better but for hunting and long range on occasion NF does all I need.
The 4.5-22's are 1500-1600 if you look around and that will give you some money for good rings.
You didn't mention if you prefer first or second focal plane so I am assuming second with the NXS rec.

I would suggest the SHV for nearly half of your budget and it'll do all you'll need for hunting out to 800 with no compromise in quality. I've been running one on a 30-378 now for three years pushing 500 rds. Several trips abused in a scabbard in the high country and everything in between here in the south. Obviously there are many options and hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

I just checked Liberty Optics and it shows $1798. If you're truly serious about buying upper tier optics, this is it. For the money I don't think anything is close for a true hunting scope.
