308 being a pain in the neck when sizing!

I've never had this much trouble resizing brass. Goes in the die just fine but I can hardly get it back out. I know my little press(rcbs partner) requires a little more umph. But it's almost to the point of cases getting stuck. Using unique lube from the should down, dry neck. Any suggestions?

Lube the inside of your neck a little. I take a Q-tip and dampen it just a bit with Hoppes #9. Then wipe it inside the neck fast and lightly, only takes a little. See if that helps you out.

Could be that brass needs annealing.
I have had this problem, brass had work hardened. Annealing it fixed it. It's probably the expander ball, having difficulty, die to brass not flexing.

That was the fix!!! Amazing how a quick swan of that made it effortless!!!!!

Switch to Hornady One Shot Aerosol (not pump). Spray whole case and inside neck. Let dry and size. Zero problems.

All you need is a propane torch!

That was the fix!!! Amazing how a quick swan of that made it effortless!!!!!

When you're done sizing, just flip the clean side of the Q-Tip around and wipe out the inside of the necks. I've been doing this for years and have never had a stuck case or an issue sizing. It's amazing how much smoother it makes things.

I've never had anything but stuck cases with sprays, granted I've never used the one you've mentioned.

RCBS has a tool that is a handle kinda like a screwdriver has with a plastic bore brush screwed into it.You just put a little case lube on it and run it in and back out the case neck before resizing the case.

Take the de-capping stem out of the resizing die, chuck it in your hand drill and work over the neck sizing ball with 400 grit emery cloth till it shines. Don't remove much more than about .001. This has helped me a lot.

How many reloads on this brass and are you neck sizing or full length?
