300 Sherman Shortmag (SS)

Also better barrel life and less recoil. I don't think the wsm will equal SS velocity loaded to under 3" either.

Good deal. If more velocity data starts showing that it will trump it significantly then that makes the decision easier. Better brass is already making the decision easier....

And the fact that whenever someone asks what you're shooting you say "300ss"... the sideways look is priceless. I've got a 270 Sherman and 25sst. Nobody in my group of friends and hunting buddies has heard of them but they're starting to see what they can do. I think as far as true short action in the ss and standard bolt face long action in the Sherman, Rich has them designed to lead the pack. The way I see it, I reload anyways so there's no downside to a wildcat.

Haha this is true and I thought always would be until I drove 4 hours of terrible roads to get to my trailhead for an Oregon deer hunt of which I didnt have time to scout and met a nice gentleman that had hunted the area previously and offered to let me hint with him.... got to talking about rifles and I asked him what he shoots.... well the answer was 7SS! I played dumb for a second just for fun lol small world!

I believe still waiting for someone to make one. Someone has to go first and get off the armchair! ;)
Brand new reamer sitting here waiting. Should be a sweet set up!
I consider myself on the waiting list for this new reamer, just put in an order for a Terminus Zeus yesterday and will run a switch barrel 6.5 SS / 300 SS on it ... but the 6.5 will come first.

That will be a sweet rig! I've been wishing it was in the cards for me to get one of those actions. I really like the 3 lug actions.
