3 yrs ago or so, I had a 6 creed, dynamite load with a hybrid at 3105fps. Load was not hot, decided to see what it do going up in charge. Don't recall the charge, but my numbers for 5 rds were:

It shot a solid 12" group @ 500 yards

Yeah I had a load for my 30-28 that all were exactly the same, 1.5 group.

It doesn't take much reloading to realize that mv es doesn't correlate with tuning a load.
Statistically speaking under ten shots is barely recording an es or sd.
Imo es is improved by reloading practice
You tune a load to the barrel, by adjusting bullet choice, seating depth, powder choice, amount of powder, and primer choice
There r certainly better bullet/powder/primer combinations that produce low mv es, but saying ur going with 43.5gr of varget instead of 44gr of varget in a 308 because it has a lower es but the 44gr makes a 10 shot group half the size of the 43.5gr load is just goofy

Adjust ur powder, leave the primer for now imo

In that case I'll try changing the primers. I've had this happen once before (not as bad) and changing the primers helped.

I'm in the change the primer group, that's alot of vertical at 100. But as stated 1 thing at a time, dont be afraid to try a magnum primer either.

Just went back through thread. 61gr of h1000 in a prc and a f210 primer. I'd switch to a f215 primer then retest followed by adjusting powder charge to shrink group size

My go to magnum primers are Fed. 215 and CCI 250 I had been a Fed 215 strictly guy but I have had a couple instances lately were a 250 has been better. Recently was my nephews 6.5x06AI.

Haha, it seemed like a lot of vertical at 100 yds. I was just politely suggesting shooting another group and focusing on good fundamentals. Others have had probably better suggestions since my post. So I won't plug up the OPs thread, but I did chuckle a bit when I saw this.
