7mm rum hunting loads

Open to suggestions for hunting loads in my new benchmark barreled 7mm rum. Looking at using 168 to 190 gr bullets, barnes ttsx or berger . Powders cases etc. I prefer federal 215 m primers. Thanks!

What ranges do you intend to hunt at? For brass, you have two options available that are in stock, Bertram and Nosler. The Bertram is heavy duty and will hold up longer than Nosler, but it's not as consistent. Nosler brass is already prepped and is pretty uniform. Bertram is hit or miss on uniformity and the amount of prep required. For powder, I suggest Retumbo, IMR 8133, N570, and RL33.

If most shots are beyond 400 yards, I would really lean towards a 180-195 Berger or 180 Hornady ELD. If you have most shots under 400, I would try a heavier constructed bullet like a Nosler Accubond, Federal Fusion or Trophy Bonded Bear Claw.

Berger 180 Hybrid. Super easy to tune, deadly on game at all ranges. Stay away from the 180 ELD with that much velocity and twist.

I would consider the Berger 195 EOL as easy to tune as the 180 hybrid, but packs a lot more punch and will buck the wind and carry it's velocity better.
You should get 3100 fps with retumbo, R33, Vit N570

There will be some who will talk about how it has a horrible reputation relative to terminal performance. I think when it first came out there were a lot of shooters using it in rifles that didn't have tight enough twist....and in that scenario.. no Berger will perform like it is supposed to.

People with rifles set up right (enough twist), all say terminal performance was awesome.

Berger 180 with 92 grains of Retumbo loaded at 3.67 coal gets me 3200 fps on a 26 inch Sendero and shoots sub moa. I use Remington brass but I think ADG would be good to. you would more than likely have to neck down 300 rum brass or 338 edge, thats what I have been doing. I also shoot a 7rum AI that I built for the 195 but I am going to try the 180s this year as the 195 was volatile even out to 500 yards. I have also shot a bunch of deer with the 168 at 3300 with 94 grains of retumbo. I have found the the nosler brass is more bulky and I had to back down to about 89 grains on the 168s from 94 grains

I liked the 190 Matrix with retumbo in my last 7RUM. I had them running at 3150 fps IIRC.

168gr LRX-- gives you all you need for velocity with a TOUGH bullet that will not have questionable terminal performance at your hunting ranges.

My 2 picks are 195 Berger's and 177 hammer hunters. I run these in my 7rbh(7mm/300 Norma imp). Both are lethal.
If holding to 800 yards the hammer would be top pick
