Most people that think the wolf is a good thing live in some part of the country there not here to see what really is happening they also believe everything the biologists tell the which is bull **** 99.9 % of the time and if you don't believe the native wolf was smaller look up some old time photos even our fish and game offers will tell you the new wolf is bigger they just won't say that to anyone that might publish it you don't want the wolf hunted to extinction but it's ok for the wolves to hunt wild game to extinction there are many people that make there livings off the wild game how would you like it if the feds introduced the wolf to Texas and the deer population decreased by 75 % and hunting that you had done for generations was limited because of this I'm sure you would be screaming like a little girl and just because there extinct here doesn't mean they will ever be extinct in Alaska and or Canada where they belong the other thing is I had a buddy shoot what he thought was a coyote when he got up to it it was huge with a big head he took it to a fish and game officer he told him it was a hybrid wolf coyote he was really concerned cuz they are about the size of our original wolf he said they are more aggressive and they knew about them but nobody talks about it so now we have another
Game killer great the funny thing is everyone that is for the wolf lives thousands of miles from the problem but have the most to say about it I wish these people would keep there a pinion to issues in there own state also stay in your own state and stay out of ours we don't want you or your or your a pinion here I don't put my nose in your states affairs so stay out of ours

Also like a said before I'm ok with animals that have no use going extinct cuz if they didn't we would have dinosaurs and we wouldn't have fossil fuels so we wouldn't have many things like hunting trucks fancy cars and plenty of other things made from extinct animals to make our lives easier

First of all I'm not advocating breaking any laws, but this so called " scientific data" is B.S. The wolf numbers are far from low about 8 times what was agreed on from the beginning.

And in Wyoming the the Fish and Game can't manage them OR now the Grizzlies because of the bought anti judges keep stopping the hunts. They know better than F&G biologist and managers.... what a **** show its turned out to be . In the mean time the inmanaged wolves are un managing deer elk moose and bighorn.

I believe if you were able to get a pre-European sample the wolves below the 49th parallel were on average smaller than those above. Some overlap, and with individuals that matched closely the size of those farther north. Bergman's rule.

In my limited experience the antelope, and mule deer even relatively short distances above the border are typically bigger bodied.

Post European (especially the last 150 years) I think changes in food supply, and creation of a selective breeding system that favored a smaller, shyer animal better able to live in proximity to humans.

Placed in a protein rich park environment average sizes increased. No different than salmon fed bears typically are bigger those without that food source. Exceptions exist just saw a picture of a big Nevada black bear with a 22" skull.

None of that means anything really, it's done. If we are to succeed in changing anything how we got where we are, who we're dealing with, how we lost, and learning from those mistakes is needed.

Almost 100 conservative Federal Judges have been appointed in the past 2.5 years. Electing conservative people to office, to continue that trend is the most basic thing we can do.

Yes the pitman Robinson act does help in conservation of spicies but it is not specific for that, it also helps with hunter ed, archery and rifle shooting ranges, and the list goes on...
As rugged as most the country is that the wolves live in out here the only way anyone could make a dent in the population at this point is by aerial shooting by Fish and game and we all know that is not going g to happen other than Possibly in very limited areas where the wolves and poeple/ livestock have issues. No way it will happen in the back country were needed.

They arent protected in Ut.. just another predator like coyote . No season or tag.

So no Fed issues if one goes up to Utah and blasts a wolf? Is it easy for someone out of state to kill one too or do they have to get a special tag? It has been a goal of mine to shoot one with a .408.

Who gives a flip about the tree hugger's wolf watching? It is not ethical to hunt any species to extinction, like almost happened with the Gray Wolf. And whether you agree or not, it is not ethical to violate game laws, which as based on scientific data, and their best prediction. Not saying you cannot shoot them. I am saying shooting them indiscriminately, and letting them lay, when their numbers are low, just to try to improve your chance at an elk, is not ethical. I shoot every coyote I can, because studies show I cannot hurt their population, and they are very numerous where I hunt. In fact, I trap and call them, as well. I am one of the checks and balances.

I am not advocating breaking laws. The problem is what are you going to do when you can not control the populations? In Texas we have been trying to get rid of coyotes and mountain lions for a hundred years using extreme methods to eradicate them and we still have both. What is going to happen when the wolf population reaches the coyote stage? I think we should ship them to Kalifornia and solve several problems.

Kentucky,West Virginia,Virginia,North & South Carolina,Tennessee, and last night I saw a video of wild elk in Arkansas. I know RMEF has worked very hard in reintroducing the elk back east and I hope the program does well. But don't let the wolf lovers reintroduce the gray wolf back east and say they are still close to extinction. The gray wolves aren't close to extinction, the wolves in Yellowstone were transplanted from Canada. Alaska also has plenty of wolves to go around. If New Yorkers and Californians want more wolves then reintroduce them to those states.

Last I saw Red Wolves are nothing more than a Grey Wolf- Coyote cross.
