.25 cal 131g .330G7 bullet from Blackjack Bullets for you to drool on ...

You guys need to check out the 25sst. AAclient cranked out 3350' last week and it comes in a 2.85" PKG!
Deer do not wonder about 3350 FPS, but they don't have to wonder at all with a 131gr. Lightning Strike. That cartridge and bullet combination is liquified internal organ material, and sudden death from hydrostatic shock.

Are you gonna buy at least 1000 pcs ? build a rifle (wildcat ?) specifically for them ?

like most of us did with the 131 gr 25 cal Ace bullets ....

how many did you get ? rifle build ?

just wondering .......

There is always a cost associated with demands and innovations. It's people like you and your support that foster innovation and entices a company to respond to a demand. Thanks.

Not that it's any of your's or anyone else's business, but you have absolutely no idea the financial struggles I've dealt with the last 3 years, and how many $10's of thousands of dollars I've lost, including all of my retirement funds, and my house, trying to keep myself afloat. Or else I would have purchased a few thousand and a new 7" twist barrel for my .25-06 AI. Never thought I'd say this, but some things are more important than building another rifle.

By the way, it was just a thought, not a demand. You know, forums are also for open-thinking. If it wasn't for this forum, we wouldn't have the 131 ACE bullets and modern twist .25 cal barrels. The reason I suggested the 8mm, is because, just like the .25 caliber, it has also been pushed aside by the bullet companies and rifle companies. Look how well the .257 131 ACE is selling.

Well, loaded up some rounds last night to break in the new Kreiger 25-284 barrel. Finally, after almost 4 months she is together! Will be putting my house up for sale and I have a painter in all next week painting the entire interior. Just like the Army...Hurry up and wait! Many thanks to Blackjack bullets for hustling out the reamer to the gunsmith.
Old Dominium Rifles in Virginia.

At around 11 AM today the painter got a call that one of his dogs had gotten out of the yard and couldn't be found. Needless to say, he took off right away. Since he lives 30 miles away I figured I could make a fast trip to the range and shoot the 25-284. Here you go with all the pertinent info. Disappointed in the velocity, but I will probably try RL 26. Probably will kick up the present load 2-3 grains. I would at least like to get into the 2959-3050 fps range or more. Please note, these were the first shots out of this barrel.

. Anyway, happy as can be with how she shot!

4831 will produce good accuracy in the 6.5x284. From what I've seen in that cartridge if you want more speed in the 25x284 try h1000 or retumbo. Your barrel will pick up a little speed as it breaks in too. R26 will be even faster yet if you don't mind a little temp instability at higher temps.

Anyone have any range reports on a 25 PRC or SAUM? Would love to push these bullets 3200+ from a 26" tube

I just got through break in with my 7.5" twist hawk hill sendero at 26" long. Running a 25-06 with IMR8133 I ran from 57gr to 61gr. Nice even speed gain with 2 distinct flat spots, best was 60 and 60.5 which landed me right at 3190fps. Those two charges were 3190 and 3192fps, so I'd say I have something to work with. No pressure to speak of, mild cratering with the tikka bolt face but it's a familiar side effect for this rifle. This'll be my Q creek ELR setup, and the specs for the 131 at 3200 and a DA of 7000 are impressive to say the least.

Good to know.

Is there a reason you chose 8133 to work with as opposed to some of the other options out there? Also was wondering what seating depth you were using and how you got to it?

I've used WW and RP many times over the years and I've achieved some very good results. Not to say the other stuff isn't worth the money but I'll never hesitate to use it if available.

As far as the powder, I have a bunch for my 300WM and 338RUM. It's a new enduron copper fouling reducing and temp stable IMR magnum powder. From a pure numbers stand point, it gives higher velocity than pretty much anything else available. That being said, retumbo also gave me very similar results.

I seated the bullets to approx 3.38in because that's as long as they can be in the stock tikka mags. I may adjust if necessary, but so far so good. Chamber is a standard 2506 saami reamer

Good info here. How far below the neck is the bearing surface at the 3.38" coal?
