Colorado red flag law passes

Let's see... you drive dangerously, you lose your license. End of argument.

I'd contend that there are many that will never experience how amazing CO is from corner to corner, in their lifetime. The nature, hunting, geology, indian artifacts, etc., all supersede any political nonsense, IMO.

I will have to agree that what little I did see of Colorado (Denver, Colorado Springs, and Aurora) was quite nice. I enjoyed the high altitude, climate, and scenery.

The issue is the state, in regards to gun laws, is being run by morons who think that they can legislate crazy. I saw just recently that a Columbine obsesed woman from Florida made threats against Colorado schools, bought a shotgun (maybe she took Joe Biden's advice?), and killed herself. Neither red flag laws nor the existing laws effected that situation in any way. The woman was from Florida, a state that has Red Flag Laws in place and she went to a state with red flag laws but still acquired a firearm. Point is one can't legislate intent. Also, Colorado has only had what two mass shootings almost twenty years apart? And does Colorado really have that high of a murder rate to justify such draconian gun laws to begin with? So perhaps the Colorado legislature should stick to solving actual problems instead of creating laws that infringe upon a Constitutionally enumerated right and have the potential to create a dangerous situation between gun owners and the police.

And if I ever get time away from work I would like to hunt/explore the beautiful state of Colorado, despite the incompetence of its mass punishment loving elected officials.

Since you use it as an example, I'll say, as a fact backed by all published data out there, that every single "----ed off ex wife" story you have, is trumped by minimum 10:1 ratio for females dying by murder suicide at the hands of a male.

"An overwhelming number of familicide cases are perpetrated by non-Hispanic white men — 91 percent, the NIJ said — and 88 percent used a gun, per the NIJ."

IMO, it is a singular, poor example of abuse of power. There is a problem now with the individual's rights stepping on the rights of many. What examples do you want, of those where intervention was necessary and did not happen? The theater shooter was found to be crazy and yet nothing was done. The vet nut that killed Zak Parrish was nutty and nothing was done (this is why the Douglas County sheriff backs this bill). The retarded kid Adam Lonza that blacked out his windows and only communicated by phone to his parents and yet was allow free access to guns without any of US speaking out as to the senselessness of this. Nothing was done, forget any laws, and then he killed many kids. Straight up, for me there is no fear of incrementalism in gun rights in this bill, when so many have proven themselves as completely unworthy of this right. I say this respectful of everyone else's opinions here. I've written it before... it seem as though when you refuse to take the political sides of L or R and think independently, it can certainly isolate you, but I do not care.
Your opinion has nothing to do with left or right... That "greater good" crap is straight-up communist/socialist talk. And there is no place for that in America, as it is not compatible with our Constitution, which grants and affirms rights to the INDIVIDUAL!!! The "greater good" is that Stalinist/Marxist garbage. That's how every communist regime has disarmed its population prior to tyrannically destroying them...By claiming that the individual's rights are inferior the rights of the majority. You know, that whole, "we're here to save you from yourselves" type of insanity. Sort of like Ronald Reagan said, "The 9 scariest words I can imagine are, "We're from the government and we're here to help.""

All of those kids showed MANY MANY MANY warning signs of acting weird, but yet, nobody did a **** thing about it? Sounds like ****** parenting to me... And if the cops were alerted, sounds like ****** police work. Be more involved in your kids' lives and you might be able to tell when something is truly "not right" about them. They were also ALL on depression, anxiety, and psychotropic medications that altered their brain chemistry...Of their already defective brains.

And LESS THAN 300 people per year die from an AR15, compared to 10's of THOUSANDS from alcohol related incidents, including car wrecks...But that still doesn't stop the liberals from trying to ban the guns, does it? When they want to ban you from owning a car, are you still gonna stick to your "greater good" principles then?

Oh, if the greatest mass-murderes in America have been white legal gun owners, then where do the black DC shooters come in? Oh, and how about the muslim female YouTube shooter? Or the Sandy Hoax shooter who STOLE his mom's rifle? Or the Columbine kids who used legal guns BUT illegally converted them into full-auto? Or the Texas church shooter who had a "less than honorable discharge" from the military and had priors, and was still passing background checks because the FBI never properly filed his paperwork to put him in the NICS system as a prohibited person? Or that dude in Oklahoma that used a truck filled with fertilizer to blow up that building? Or those 2 foreign kids that uses pressure cookers at the Boston Marathon? Or how about those Saudi Arabians who flew those 3 planes into 3 different buildings almost 20 years ago? I think about 3,000 people died that day... Maybe Ocrazio-Cortex might be on to something with eliminating airplanes... Hmmm...

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

You should turn in all your guns then there would be no shootings. I mean if it would save even one life then it shouldn't be a problem infinging on everyones 2A rights. I should just trust the goverment and politicans to protect me. They would never just come take my guns. I am sooo glad this happened and I didn't move to Colorado.
Exactly... Getting rid of/destroying your own guns in the name of preventing crime, is no different than someone chopping off their own dick to prevent rape.

Makes about as much sense...

Your state may be beautiful, outside of Denver... But that one liberal cesspool is turning it into a joke... Just like most of SoCal is destroying California. "Keeping Portland weird" is destroying Oregon, and Seattle's grungy hippie angst is still destroying Washington. Austin & Dallas are destroying Texas. Just like Chicago is destroying Illinois. And Washington D.C. is destroying our country and our rights.

I completely agree. but why single out CO or these other places? Our country is being run by 2 parties which are both full of lost liars and refuse to work together on anything. We can apply that to the issue of gun control or anything else.

You can only appeal to a greater good, when you have a great nation filled with great culture. That doesn't apply here currently, that's why it seems like communist, socialist and I'll add, greed filled capitalism, to you. It's all me and my money right now. Your post seems to infer that our shared gun responsibility is "parenting." Is that what you'd call pulling aside a good friend, when things are bad at home and maybe asking that the guns be secured for just a bit? Is that parenting or being a good friend? Same with the retarded kid. So easy to side step anything that seems like a responsibility.
You are right and I agree, almost all mass murders are white or muslim males. The DC killer was one exception and his army training sure came into play.

As far as I'm concerned you are really treading in MYOB areas!
And I would tell anyone that, don't question what goes on in my house!
You worry about yours! If everyone spent their time putting their house in order
they wouldn't have time to fool with mine! My doctor sent me to see a specialist
and that nurse asked if I had any guns in my house? SO I asked her did you poop today? Ended that!

Don't even start with the greedy capitalism ********, if I put in more hours and get more return that does not make me a greedy capitalist it means I worked longer hours and got payed more. All of those rich people work all hours of the day, just because they worked their but off and got somthing out of it does not mean they are "Greedy Capitalists" I'am sure there is greed in their hart, but they worked for it and used their heads.

You all are having the wrong argument. Gun owners get sucked into this constantly by the left. Since when in America is it ok to punish a citizen because he/she MIGHT commit a crime? Under these laws you can be punished because you are simply CAPABLE of doing harm, you don't even have to threaten or plan to do so. Get your heads on straight guys and look at what they are doing. Forget about the guns, focus on their actions. They are setting a precedent that will change the very fabric of our judicial system. Fight them on this level, do not stoop to theirs. Remember the old saying; "Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience".

If you are going to bring up the race thing, there are more white people in America than any other race you have to brake down the % of how much crime each race does, and when you do that the blacks and the "minorities" are the only people who are over represented in how much crime they do by what % they are in the population.FBI Statistics Say it's Real, and It's Just Called Racism - YouTube The statistics start at 2:43.

It's I think you are nuts so I'am going to have your **** stolen by cops and you can possibly be killed in the process.

NO, you are missing the point. Guns are just a tool they don't like. If they can do that they can take any property from you they want. All they need is a way to justify it to a portion of the population.
