1st Bull. 602 yards with 180 eldm

Thanks for posting, i was hoping to see something like this with the 180eldm. I use these bullets in my 28 @3226. Nice bull!

Google llamas on here. Their is a post I replied to.

Basically a one to two hour introduction training. Llamas rode on back of a pick up with a wood frame installed by owner at time of pickup. They carry 80 to 100 pounds. Zero trouble. A child could lead.

At camp offer water once a day and move every other day to new grass. They stake out like a dog. Zero problems.
Sounds like you had a great experience all the way around. The funniest pack animal I've come across in the Rockies was a string of goats. Aty least Llamas make sense, HA!

I have heard a lot about goats being used for pack animals in the last year.

That was a great hunt. The llamas are one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile. Now we need pics of those goats.. :)

Congrats on your first bull. Also, nice shot, looks like the bullet worked pretty darn good....one shot - one kill! memtb

Awesome hunt D-man, thanks for sharing all parts of the hunt with us I am very interested in the llamas. Just a curious question after you quarter it out the bull what did you use to chill him down I didn't notice in the pictures coolers or anything but with it being not too far in I assume that you packed out to get ice? Or was it cold enough to hang where you were at? I live in North Georgia so I think we're trying to hit all four seasons this week!!!!!!

They have limited capacity but they can carry their max load places you wouldn't want to go anyway.

Someone ought to start a string of hybrid Ibex X Boer's specifically for that purpose, they'd be a real hoot.

This was a public land DIY hunt. Those are llamas that I rented in the background. I took them, went in 4 miles and camped out.

That reminds me. I was to report my experiences with llamas on here.

Would love to know more about getting the llamas. My daughter is infatuated with llamas and wants to hunt too - so figuring I can have her lead the llamas and I do the rest of the hard work. She'd LOVE it....

It was cold enough at night to hang but the days were warm. Unfortunately I killed around 8 in the morning. I went back to camp, saddled up llamas and retrievrd the bull with friends. I immediately headed out to the processor. Made it there by 5PM.
