Thers's a lot of hand work done in the production of these rifles. I figure that accounts for much of the high price. Don't own one but from what I've read it's a very fine rifle worthy of a home in your gun safe between seasons.
Just as a bit on insight - if you read comments using the term "clone" regarding this rifle or any other, keep in mind that just because a portion of a rifle has a similar appearance to another rifle doesn't make it a "clone". I've handled a lot of rifles with actions that were described as clones but the referenced parent rifle's action didn't come even close to the operational efficiency of the superior version.
