8 years?
Great? I have 5 years left. I've been trying to get tags in that area since a buddy of mine that lives there will take me.

I had drawn a tag back before the 'legalized extortion' of the point system was in place and had always wanted to get back there. We do a town hunt out of Douglas. So every year we had applied and purchased a point even if we didn't get a tag. We may have drawn earlier but one of the guys had hip and knee replacements so 2 of those years got point app only.

Very nice bulls. Did you see many? How many days were you there?

Thank you. Yes that was all we saw really was Bulls. I saw 8 the evening I killed mine. Nobody saw cows until we saw a heard come out into a park about 1 1/2 miles away. Then there were about 30 cows and five bulls with them. We had a five day hunt. I killed first. Not complaining but a little bigger one got down past us that hunt. I am really pleased with our results. The second bull killed the guy missed the bigger one but heart shot the other one with him. The other guy with the 7x7 (over the eye guard) it was his first bull and first elk hunt. He is 68.

Good looking Bulls. Congrats to your group. I'd say you had a great trip. Bruce

Bruce we did have great hunt. We had access to private land thru this guide. The guide grew up in those mountains. War Bonnet peak area. They are unbelievable. They know every animal there and where they are going. They scout ALL the time. After we had all killed, which took a total of 1 1/2 days I went looking w guide for a dead bull he knew was in this area because of some coyote tracks. I found it, the nose knows. He cut the horns and he gave me the ivories.

A few more additional photos of getting them out. The cart is a Miller welding machine cart.

I stay in Douglas when I go on Antelope hunts, made friends with a rancher not far from town and hunt another area nearby as well.
I love it out there.
