Wolf or Coyote?

It's probably some tree huggers malamute that they have running around without a collar on. A few years ago during the deer hunt I had an "oversized coyote" in the scope but just before it met its maker two granolas came walking out of the woods. Apparently they thought it would be a good idea to walk their malamute without a leash in the mountains during the deer hunt. I can only imagine their faces if I had squeezed the round off. :D

Definitely not a yote... probably a pet.. but more towards the wolf... i have a would hybrid dog and it looks just like that.. he goes by Wolfy

I would have paid good money to see that one!! :D

That sure looks like a Grey Wolf and not like a Coyote .
Might be a pet , it does seem unconcerned but maybe it's never been shot at.
I've never seen either in the wild but it sure looks like a Wolf to me.

...well whatever it is that sure is a beautiful background, I have got to get out of NJ.

Looks like a job for a dichotomous key. There truly is no worse hell-forged object than a broad dichotomous key.

Only way to tell is shoot it and drop it off at the nearest fed building at 2:00 am.
