Beautiful area! Sorry you didn't see any elk. Too much altitude-not enough oxygen. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it . Maybe next time

It was the most beautiful country I've ever seen. Sat there by the logging road glassed hoping to see any. Though came up empty handed, it was worth the day.

You can pattern them right up to opening day and then they are captured by aliens and not turned loose until after season. I saw it on History channel Ancient Aliens so must be true. Just sayin...
