Not exactly. Actually, once you initiate the application with the BATFE and it's approved. you should under the rules set forth by the BATFE concerning C&R weapons, keep a running log of all purchases and sales if it's weapons or related merchandise notwithstanding.
Never heard of anyone being audited (myself included) but with the government, it's better to be safe than on the receiving end.
So yes, it's a discount coupon at Grafs and Widners and others, but it also has some responsibility as well.
I have mine because I ocassionally work on select fire (machine guns) of WWII and earlier vintage and I also collect C&R weaponry. I've never sold anything vintage but it's all logged just in case.
I can pull the regs if you want me to and post them on here. I didn't want to because it's pretty lengthy and full of legal jargon.

It's necessary to have (in my case) or nice to have in geargrinders case but there is a bit of responsibility involved and it does leave one hell of a paper trail on your part.

My very good friend and hunting partner is also a gun shop owner and he owns an indoor range as well so I know firsthand just how close the government scrutinizes everything concerned with firearms.
I have to put in another plug for Len and LRH Online. We all use his forum and he sells scopes and related accessories. In the interest of perpetutring this site and Len, it would I feel it would be prudent to give him a shot at selling a scope or related accessories.
I realize Cameraland and others are also on here as paid advertisers but lets not forget Len....
