Comparing the 7mm Rem Mag and a 300 win mag case the 300 win mag has about 8 grains more capacity depending on the brass used. In some cases a little more. With the proper reamer for the 7-300, and using 180 gr bullets in both, I have seen 200 +fps or more from the 7-300 with the same powders at max in both.

You do realize both cases in your thread are belted don't you?

After owning many of both belted and non-belted for years, I have never seen a difference. So if it shoots good, has good velocity and decent barrel life I like it.

Ok, sorry. I guess I got confused when you started the thread asking the difference between the two, and then made a point of mention that you didn't care for one because it has a belt.

I just don't care for belted cases, I thought the 7mm and 300wm were the same case. Never really looked at them. But a buddy of mine went with a friend that was shooting the 7x300 and asked me about it. I told him I didn't know for sure what it was. It got me thinking about it and it sounds interesting.
