Okay, Friday I went and bought a used Remington 700 VSF in .308 and topped it with a Swaroski 6x18...My goal on that day was to look about trading a gun and some cash for a custom 700 in 7-08. Its a very nice gun, very light weight, thumb hole stock, muzzlebrake. Anyway, I'm thinking now I probably should have gotten the 7-08. Would you?

muz,
Don't regret your decision, you can never go wrong with the 308. I love shooting mine. You don't have to worry about recoil, barrel heat, errosion, and stabilization. Plus, guys on this site have tons of round recommendations. Go SMK and never look back.

I'm a 7mm-08 guy, but does it really matter?

Barrel life of the .308 is said to be eternal + 2,000 rounds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ENJOY!
