Summer this year are to catch up on indoor projects, a few trips fly fishing, accurizing a freebie rifle I earned helping a nice elderly gentleman, some handloads and staying out of the furnace of the desert southwest....
Very little in big game tags this year, so, varmints are looking good up in the high country!

I now have on hand donated 20 .224 Shilen SS Select Match 7.5T Ratchet blanks to finish for the TX Juniors Service Rifle Team. Finished barrels will have heavy contour NM, 1.000 inch for 12.125 under the handguard. By rules, gas block journals are at 0.750. I use 30 cal A2 flash hiders for crown protection. Barrel extensions are 0.300 longer than original M16 and threads are 20 TPI instead of the M16 threads at 16 TPI.

The 3 lathes will be busy; one set up to chamber, 2nd one for contouring, and the 3rd for threading the muzzle end. Sort of mini production.

Not in the business, just a hobbyist, doing my community service supporting the juniors, the future of our competition community.

These batch will be issued next year when we re-barrel their competition AR15s.

Almost forgot, before I start on this batch of. 224 barrels I will spin up a .223 M1 Garand barrel.

This is what's going to keep me busy these coming months. All will be 20 inch service rifle barrels. A little bit more work on this batch; unturned at 1.0375. Last year's were turned to 1.000, minus zero, plus 0.005. The shiny ones were from last year's batch.

Looks like I will be busier, 18 blanks came in unturned, but not bad, 1.037. I had the boxes for weeks before I opened.

Coyote season never ends. The other seasons just get in the way. Sometimes I feel obligated to shoot a deer or a Turkey, but coyotes are where it's at.
