What about .270 Winchester?

My Remington 700 BDL shoots the 140g Nosler ballistic tips into a bug hole at 100 yards with 58g of H4831 with cci 250's. The Browning A bolt likes 130g anything with 58g of R#22(Fed 210), and the 110g TTSX at 3300 with R#17, H4350, and Win 760 shoots sub 1/2" groups. The Ruger Mark II Skeleton LOVES the 110g TTSX over all other bullets.

Congratulations on finding a rifle that you like. They are good shooters, I don't think this cartridge is going on the obsolete list in the too near future. If you are a reloader and were looking for a wildcat cartridge I would recommend the .270 Ackley Improved......I would recommend the .270WSM only put a 1:8 twist barrel to shoot the heavies with.
Thanks! Here are the pictures. Not much to go on, but the price was right, and I've bought from the guy before so he isn't a scammer.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rifle yet. My wildcat days are behind me, and if I go 1:8 with the barrel I'll make it a 6.8 Western. That is the .270 WSM done right IMO.

That rifle is easy on the eyes for sure….

Rl22 is awesome in the 270 but it is quite temp sensitive I discovered, in fact the most temp sensitive powder I've used much.

But had no trouble and no pressure signs with Winchester brass, fed 210, and 61 grains of rl22 hitting 3100 with a 140 btsp. From a 22 inch.

🤷🏻‍♂️ But I like the .270 as well. But as .270 Thors Hammer as named here.😂 Sorry @Calvin45 it took me so long to reply.

The .270 Win in 700LA can be built to whole another level of performance with Hammer 156HH and RL26 with sufficient freebore. A 156HH @3200fps is one heck of a step up for it.

Plenty of threads here on it.
'26 will propell a 140gn Badlands w/G-7 of .333 to 3100fps (I've actually run them up to 3150 from a specific lot of old Rem brass that's "roomy") from a 22"bbl and a standard SAAMI chamber.

My earlier post was to discuss things that are readily available and easily utilized in factory 1:10 .270Win chambers.

My dad recently passed his pre 64 mod 70 to me. He traded a broken down truck for it the year I was born, 1961 He used it like Elmer Kieth to shoot jack rabbits, coyotes and other small critters. He also used it like Jack O Conner to take antelope deer elk buffalo and even the occasional wild/maverick beef out on the ranch. It is quite a treasure to me. It always got the job done just fine for my dad. He is 91 now and I will miss hunting and shooting with him.

My first rifle in 1968, do the math, was Savage 110C in .270. Still have it. Rebarrrled couple years ago with ER Shaw 24" SS barrel. Shoots fabulous with good old 130BT and Hornady 130SP. Still take it out once I am done playing with the "big boys". Killed a doe at 220 yds couple years ago that was incredibly satisfying. Perfect hit with 130BT (BTW a blem!!) and went maybe 30 yds. So fun to shoot.

Have 2 total but leaning toward another one. I think I read you are required to have 3 in safe.
