The wife and I were horseback riding yesterday in on of our fields and my horse about jumped out of his skin. Then I saw why.

Sadly, now 24 hours later, its still there. I am hoping it was not abandoned. We are steering clear and keeping the horses out of that field. And no we did not approach it, I used zoom

I saw the first one of the year in our area in middle Tennessee last Sunday afternoon. It was still wobbly legged and following mom across a yard on our rural 2 lane road.

On May 15 , this year, I watched a doe give birth to her twins at the edge of my lawn and the wood line. Watched for 4 hours , from wobbly and falling down to jumping and playing 4 hours later, then they all wandered off.

It's definitely the time of year for fawns. I am always fascinated by the survival instincts and capabilities of deer and other undulants in wild.
