went to manville to do a little deer hunting but saw very few deer and only one small buck. BUT did run into this guy 1.7 miles downhill from truck. My first bull and man are they a lot of work! Got to go back in the morning with help to get the rest out. Used the Tikka in 6.5Sweede and a 147eld. He went 2 feet straight down. This elk hunting is way too much work for my old fat out of shape self.

On the way out this guy come over the hill and laid down 237 yards from the truck while I was going through a gate. Why do I have to do things the hard way?

Congrats on your bull! That second bull is a dandy! I shot a rag horn once and a guy comes up to me while I was working on it and tells me there is a 7 pt bedded around the hill. He had a cow tag only and couldn't find any cows.

Congratulations. When it comes to elk there is only one way to do it. The hard way. I would rather hunt elk than anything else. And they all come the hard way. You will remember this forever. Again congratulations and very nice elk. Hunt safe and be careful.
