Weight sorting brass Questions?

Do you weight sort before or after case prep?

Both, mostly to see what differance it makes. Usually very little. To be safe, I sort what I am going to group together after I prep them. Neck turn, uniform primer pockets and debur flash holes. Thats just what wurkz for me.

If I were going to sort brass by weight, I would do so after all prepping was completed.

After fireforming, I check H2O capacity of each case, and toss those out of the norm.
I weigh beforehand only when there is a lot of work in preps(like neck turning, annealing, etc)to follow... Only to reduce wasted efforts overall.

But who knows, weighing in itself may be wasted effort.
I know capacity checks are not.

After... I believe your results are more realistic once you have removed all of the "extra" brass... Primer pocket, flash hole, case length and neck thickness. What's left is more likely to effect case volume
