When he said something was going to happen it did, but we were prepared.
There was no "trash talking" the military and the assessment by Avaitrix and myself in the past that the military will be a 50/50 proposition is pretty accurate. Not only is it our assessment, but also that of the emperor as witnessed by his National Civilian Security Force. He has publicly stated that the military cannot be counted on in matters of national security. That right there should have been enough to ring the bells of alarm across this nation but they all stood mute because the media squelched it.
Like the General, and a good Boy Scout..

I appreciate the General for stating what I've known for years. Obama isn't the instigator, he's just picking up the pace.
This has been building up since Woodrow Wilson, Obama is just in appearance more Socialist than previous Presidents.
Like I said in previous posts, just follow the money trail. That will tell you really who controls the President and the country. Obama is a puppet. Nothing more.
The Second amendment crap is nothing more than a flanking tactic, remove the guns and you've advanced the socialist agenda and it's been coming for a long time, longer than any of us have been alive.
Problem is, we've become a complacient society, content with the government wiping our asses, actually demanding it instead of being independent we have become dependent....on the government for everything, for every restraint, for every program and every law whether that law is good for the whole or not. Wed have anti smoking laws, seatbelt laws noise laws littering laws, the list goes on and on when all it comes down to is common sense, which we, as a society are sadly lacking.
Now it's come time for the government to extract it's 'pound of flesh' in payment.
The guns will eventually go away. Maybe not in our lifetime but in the future. All we can do at this point is stall the inevitable.
So yes, the General's commentary scares me in as much as it will happen, eventually.
Take a look around, at current events, at the complaciency at the entitlement at the government wiping everyone's butthole and ask yourself... Whats the payment for this? The payment is Socialism. Accept it. We are a distinct minority.
I'll be happy with private firearm ownership for my lifetime. I don't believe my kids will have that right.
The General missed one point, we already have the domestic military prescence. Department of Homeland Security. Even the military can't fire weapons on select fire, only 3 round bursts. Guess who can run select fire... DHS. Guess where the ammunition went besides civillans panic buying......DHS.
Guess who cross trains with UN troops on US soil....DHS.
Guess who will knock on your door and demand your legally licensed, legally possessed firearms and take them by force if necessary.....DHS. Don't ever forget Katrina, people in general have very short memories, even on this site....
The government knows all about you and me. Would it astound you if I told you that the government has the technology to watch you take a leak outside your garage with enough resolution to see the pee stream.... Sure can. Would it astound you that the government has been patrolling the skies with unmanned drones in domestic airspace for years...sure have. Would it astound you if you knew those drones might be carrying laser guided hellfire missles and can paint you on the ground with pinpoint accuracy and take you out..... Thats old technoligy.
It's all here and has been for at least 20 years, long before Obama.
It's the way it is, like it or not. We will still enjoy what we like, hunting and shooting for a time..... A finite time.
It will distill down to a choice in the end and that choice will be a personal one.

I'm going to be selfish (something our generation is known for btw) and enjoy the freedom the Constitution gives me for as long as possible, why I support the NRA, why I write letters, why I call politicians, why I have an NRA sign in my fromt yard and why I donate to the NRA when I am able....
I'm paying my 'pound of flesh' so I can enjoy what I like to do. It's my personal payment for the freedom I enjoy.

The mantra in this country today is..... "Let someone else do it, I'm too busy".
It even shows on these threads. In the beginning there were lots of comments and lots of action, now, the 'newness has worn off' so it's back to the same old crap.
Pretty sad I'd say. You reap what you sow.
Remember, the elected politicians are just waiting for the 'kill'/ I'm not a sheeple. Are you??

It's very sad! There is a price to pay for our freedom, but few are willing to pay. I'm a broken record on this but with 60+ million gun owners in this country why are only 4-5 million members of the NRA!!!!!!!! That's a less than 5%. The NRA is the most powerful and feared lobby in Washington. Imagine if 20-30% were members. There would be no discussion and the cowards in Washinton would head for the hills. The cost of membership is a brick of rimfire ammo.The biggest issue is that gun owners tend to be the most passionate of the the interest groups, so forget about all the other breakdowns in our country. Unless people wake up, our country is screwed. I'm pretty old, and have experienced life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. For those of you that are still young.........you might not be able to say this, and our grand kids will never get to know it.

Another good orginazation NAGR, they to are in the fight. Also do not support business that is anti 2nd Amendment why would you want to give them your money simply to make your life a little easier. If you are gonna talk the talk, you should at least walk the walk. JMO

It sounds to me like some of the folks on here are getting a bit down about the state of the fight. I think we are making headway. I had a liberal (admitted socialist) post on one of my links on Facebook the other night, and a bunch of people got on and blasted him before I ever had a chance to. People are listening to us, even if they choose to be less active. On top of that the liberals are helping us out with crap like using a pen for self-defense, getting a double barrel shotgun and shooting both shots into the air, and all of the crap about women not getting concealed carry permits. They are showing their true purpose and shooting themselves in the foot in the process. WE need to keep working hard. WE can do this. There are a lot more people listening to US than you might imagine. 49% of the nation did not vote for president *******. We do not need to convince that many to take our country back. Then, we need to start addressing all the other wrongs that are happening in our great nation. My 2 cents. Keep the grassroots going guys!

It's interesting in my perspective that the whole 'fight' if you will, is about something thats granted in so many words in the Constitution 'the right to bear arms against a tyranical government and to form a citizen malita'
No where does it state anything about hunting or recreational use of firearms, just the right to own them as a free man (or woman).
Therein lies the rub with me. The right to own without government sanction.
I find it amazing how politicians can construe things to turn a given right in the constition into a crime.

I read in the paper that Obama approval rating is the highest it's ever been. Just goes to show one how the sheeple really feel. They want the government to wipe their buttholes, every day and the government will. Problem is, they have no inkling what the price will be in the end.

"Problem is, so are we" This is the greatest fear for me . I have 2 little precious girls one is 4 years old and the other is 19 months . My wife is also exspecting, our baby boy will be due in 3 weeks . I often wonder what it will be like when they are my age ? Obama and his followers are not going to take my country away without a fight see I am not just fighting for "my" country I am fighting for the future of my kids and someday grand kids and their kids.. This is very personal and much is at stake! If we fail our kids and grand kids will never know the freedom that we so freely enjoy that should be enough in itself to face the fire head on !
