vortex viper pst GEN2 arriving in spring 2017

I really like the lower, larger diameter turrets on this scope and hope it becomes the trend.
And I want to see this trend on all of the new AMG line of Made-In America Vortex scopes.

That with an internal bubble level would make for an amazing long range scope.

I like what they've done with the turrets, and moving the illumination switch. I'm disappointed they are sticking with the same glass as the original PST scopes though. I have a couple of PSTs and they are good scopes for the money. I really like their reticles. The glass is okay but that's really the one thing they should have improved upon. A PST with HD glass would have been really cool. And now that they have the Viper binos with HD glass I'm wondering why they didn't offer it with the PST scopes. Maybe next year!

Same glassas old psts??
The voice in the video sure sounds like Paul who told me when I was taking to him that side by side the new is noticeably better.
So I sure thought that changed also

I guess we will have to see. Their website doesn't mention upgraged glass, and in fact it specifies that both old and new have the XD glass. I would think if they had significantly upgraded the lenses they would mention that on their site. I'm just speculating though. I notice the new scopes are a fair bit heavier and more expensive than the originals.

Just asked a friend at Vortex,, not Paul in this case.
He said
Glass Is much nicer and locket turrets-

That part has be puzzled because when I played with a early production model it did not.

I was told they don't lock, hopefully that's not the case. If they do I may give Vortex another try.

I think he was just a quick response between planes and got screwed up and was thinking the new zero stop. Basically the same zero stop as the gen 1 razor and no shims.
I do like the locking turrets on the gen 2 razor and amg a lot

I just spoke to a vortex specialist on the phone in the US 1-800 426-0048 I asked about the new vortex PST GEN 2 . I asked if the glass would be different then the GEN 1 PST , he said as far as glass itself he can assure me that the optical clarity has improved from the GEN 1 to the GEN 2 . He also stated that it's not always the glass itself it's the way the optic lens are lined up and put together and internals that improves glass clarity . He said if you give a good cook (chef) bad ingredients and you give a bad cook good ingredients the good cook can make you a better dish .
