I am about to go out tomorrow to work up a drop table on my borrowed XP. Yotefever has generously (what was he thinking?) provided me the use of his .260 Remington killing machine for the whitetail season which opens in 3 weeks here in Wisconsin.

So...what do you do with the shooting hand that may be different than when holding a rifle? How do I hold the stock with my hand? I need a handgun shooting lesson by tomorrow am.

I like to place my left hand in front of the right hand
and brace the left wrist with the right thumb.

Sounds funny but it works well for me when shooting offhand.

Try different hand positions until you find the steadiest
for you and dont lock your elbows.

And for best results find a rest and use your best hand position.

Great post-- the secret of course is to dry fire with different positions until the reticle doesn't move much. Also, if u're shooting from a bipod, i like Froggy's advice about preloading it in the article on 6mmbr.com-- "Bugholes From Bipods."
