Sounds like they left their gear in their vehicle, and their GPS was not working. I doubt they had a paper backup map also, so if they left sight of the trail, they could become lost very quickly. With the weather we've had lately and if they did not find or make some type of rough shelter and build a fire, they may have succumb to hypothermia. Lightening is also a concern.

We lose people in these mountains every year, and so many are never prepared for the realities of the terrain, rapidly changing weather nor have the proper survival training. I do hope they find them, for time is running out. Locally, we've seen snow dustings on the tops since September 5.

🙏 that they get out soon, I've worn out a few pairs of boots in and around there, hopefully they IFR out of there (I follow rivers) and show up on a road pretty soon. No matter what you can get out of the mountains by following the water downhill, might take a couple of days but every stream hits a river and every river hits a road/highway or a town. When I lived in the area it was fairly common to find someone on a road coming out at night or going in at 4 am, some of them would be 15-20 road miles from where they were supposed to be. Get scared and start travelling and you can cover a lot of ground in not a lot of time. Hopefully that's why they haven't found these guys yet and they will pop out on a road soon.

I had to use the stream to river technique once. Not fun. Prayers for the hunters.

Really not looking good. Bad feeling about this.

I don't want to sound like a nut or anything like that but a whole lot of people go "missing" in the woods all of the time. I find it very disturbing honestly. We re talking Thousands of people never to be seen or heard from again. I refuse to mess around in the woods.
