Installed a timney 510 on a rem700 with the xmark and installation went fine but then when I dry fired the rifle the bolt was hard as hell to lift. What's the dang problem? Besides I ain't a professional!

Sounds like your front trigger guard screw might alittle to tight. Loosen it up and that should fix it.

Tried that. Even went as far as to take the rifle back out of the stock and it's still the same

Driller, call or e-mail Timney, they will have the answer. Excellent customer service.

Did you also mount a scope at the same time? Sometimes new mount screws will hang down a little too far and hit the bolt.

This. I had an issue with a Timney Featherweight on a Mauser 98. The customer service guy did everything humanly possible to help.
