The application is for distant groundhogs.
Am shooting a 1 in 12" 308Win Remmy and a 1 in 9.25" 243 Win Savage.
I've gotten good accuracy with the old Wildcat 169.5gr bullets and the 175gr SMK in the 308.
Am experimenting with the 105gr Amax in the 243 and am getting ok results.
Berger doesn't list heavy varmint bullets.
Not sure if I should go with the "match" or "hunting" versions of the following weights and if my twist rates will spin them enough.
In the 243Win:
95gr Match Hunting or Target VLD
or 105gr Match Hunting or Target BT
or 105gr Match Hunting or Target VLD.
In the 308win:
175gr Match Hunting or Target BT Long Range
or 175gr Match Target VLD
thanks
