Ive been kicking the idea to just do a 6.5x55 sweede and call it a day. If anything just take the body taper out and leave the shoulder alone.

Well, once again, there's nothing new under the sun!
There is indeed a 6.5 Sherman Mag!
It's based on the 300 PRC and Rich has improved the case dimensions (no clickers) and he has a reamer and dies. Easy-peasy.
Guess I'll put it on my "to build" list.
He hasn't put it on his website yet and it's over a year old. One customer is using it with great success.
Gotta get my 30 Sherman Mag up and running first

Its no secret that i do well with the 6.5 crudmoor at 1000 yard br. But lapua 6.5x55 brass is so much cheaper. The sweede in a modern rifle with the right powder is a real performer and super accurate to boot. Only reason to switch is to play with something new. Already did the x284 thing. Really the creedless running a 147 eldm at 2900 is pretty good combo. If i had a mag bolt face one one of my 1000 yard rigs i would just do a prc. My only mag face is in my 77 pound heavy gun in 300wsm. Going to be a 7 saum soon.
So many toys - so little time. What a nice problem!
I wish this was still the status, but 100x pcs of x55 is now 90-110$ just like creed. I know a year or two ago is was in the low 80s. Should have bought some then!
