I think the 280 & the 280AI have started to surge a bit more lately, there are a lot more rifles being offered in both now than before as well as factory ammunition offerings.
Winchester made a run of 280,s for a distributor. Only 500 will be made forever so I jumped on one. Super grades, A year later it was a regular catalog item:mad: My luck lol. But for regular hunting on deer I like it. I load a 150 at 3000 over 7828.

Jim Carmichael hunted the world with 3 guns. A 280,338win, and a 458. But you could not possibly spend enough money on just 3 lol:p

So far the 28 is the only one that got good traction. The others are still alive but not by much. I guess time will tell on this one.
I happened to talk to a rep from Browning and according to him both the 26 & 28 are pretty good sellers.

I'll just watch and wait! I have never been a fan of their 28 Nosler and can't see this one being any better? Noticeable barrel damage at 100 rounds? I'll leave those ridiculously overbore cartridges alone..

I just left the Nosler website and they have officially launched the 27 Nosler. There are 2 factory loads available so far, one is 150gr. Accubond(TG) and the other is 165 ABLR. They are also offering 2 rifles chambered in the new caliber, the M48 Mountain Carbon and the Long Range Carbon. From what is posted on their website, the new caliber outperforms the obvious 270 Win, the 270WSM and the 270WBY by some significant margins! I realize there are many who are not fans of the .277 caliber, but I am and have harvested a lot of game with my 270Win. I'm pretty sure this newest offering from Nosler has peaked my interest enough that I will in the near future purchase and or build a rifle in this caliber.
I’m more excited hearing about a .277 165gr ABLR than the .27 Nosler cartridge.

I am glade to see more interest in the .277 as the .270Win. is one of my favorite cartridges. As said above a .277 165gr. ABLR bullet is a bit more exiting than a new cartridge. I may have to build a .270 rifle with a faster twist, only problem there is the money :)!!
I think the biggest problem with any new 30 caliber is the market is so flooded with so many 30 calibers and so many of them duplicate each other it's hard to bet the old tried and true ones, and there is a lot of them.
Nosler has a 35 Nosler registered with SAAMI, that's the one I'd love to see be offered. The 35 caliber just don't get the love it deserves.

I got in an argument on here last night. Thinking about it now I should have just left it alone. Have you ever taken the same case and tested say a 25. then 30, then 35 and then 40 degree for performance?
I just built a .270 AI and very impressed with the performance; and, yes it will outperform the .270 Weatherby! I am about to built a 6.5-06 Ackley cannot wait to get the rifle back. And.....there is a great .277 caliber following; at least smart ones!!:rolleyes:

Isn,t that the truth? I had a 358 norma until my friend just had to have it.

I had a .358 Norma mag, sold it due to economics dictating policy. Presently have a 35 Whelen and a .358 Winchester wouldn't part with them for anything. They are great shooting rifles with good performance.
