Siberian Ibex in the mountains of Kazakhstan

This story is not about sheep but regarding a siberian ibex.
Almaty oblast of Kazakhstan is quite reach in terms of ibexes and I have a great opportunity to hunt on them.
This story is about my first animal taken in December 2011.
The hunting was carried out on 3400 m. altitude and temperature was -15C.
Then I had a CZ 550 Lux, 308 with Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40.
The distance of shooting was 350 m. And the cartridge was Hornady A-MAX, 168.
The bullet hit to the neck and the ibex fall down right away.
Te weight of the animal was about 100 kg.

We have some Ibex down here in New Mexico but the tag is very hard to get.

Good looking Ibex. I got one in Kyrgyzstan a few years ago. They live in some very beautiful and rugged mountains. Sounds like it was a good hunt. Congrats. Bruce

Thank you all for congratulations. It was really beautiful but challenging hunting. This one is my favorite type of game. The most difficult is to see them before they notice you and approaching. Every flock has ones responsible for scanning around and any suspicious movements in the radius of 1500 m. most likely will be spotted.
Another tough thing is riding a horse. Sometimes we ride for 20 miles a day on the steep mountains between rocks, rivers and trees - it is quite extreme and painful

You are right first she was in panic when she saw it (so big!!!!) but after I explained that I would hang at my cabinet she given in.

This goat was taken in the same mountains but from other side, from Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan is the great place to get a golden trophy, it is still possible to meet 1.5 m. ibex.

Its a great part of the world. Very wild and beautiful. Takes a bit to get there, but its worth it! I'll report back after my hunt. New 7 SAUM being finished by the smith. All of the parts will be there this week. Have some 175 gr LRAB's that I'm going to try. Bruce
