Shotgun Chassis Systems???

Why are shotgun chassis not a thing?
Simple question, do shotgun chassis exist turned into more questions. With the continued modularity afforded to all of us in LRH, or really anything rifled these days I started thinking. Why am I trying to find youth and compact models, 410's and 20ga's to get my kiddos, nieces and nephews into birds, trap and sporting clays? Why is someone not making a shotgun chassis for more than just an 870 tactical conversion?
A good 20ga seminauto could last a lifetime, why not have an XLR stock that can grow with my son and allows him to change barrels add sights as needed? Why are we still fighting with rib mounts and saddle mounts for both old and new shotguns?
Now I'm really hoping I'm ignorant and one of you is going to point me to a chassis system for recoil operated and another for gas operated… but please help me understand how we haven't applied this solution to shotguns?

They kind of exist, but not like AR Rifle chassis.

You can get adjustable LOP stocks Magpul SGA, ATI, Mesa, Adaptive Tactical for 870/500/590 and some semi autos even 20ga versions. High end stuff like TSK stocks for Beretta Browning gives full adjustability for clays.

Why not more full chassis? Shotguns are already simple, light, and swing naturally. A true aluminum chassis adds weight bulk cost that most hunters and clays shooters don't want. Gas vs. inertia vs. pump receivers also make universal modularity tough.

For kids Just get a good adjustable stock on a quality 20ga semi Beretta 1301, Stoeger, etc. or a cheap youth model that grows via spacers. It's way more practical than waiting for a unicorn 20ga chassis. Cool idea though the market just never demanded it hard enough.

I have spent too much of the day looking into it and then going back to what problem am I trying to solve. You are correct in weight, cost, etc could be restrictive. I just think there could be a better solution. I'm envisioning something like the MDT HNT Chassis where it's designed around a real world application as much as competitions. I finally came to the conclusion that all of my wants are out there, just not in one simple package. So here's my wish list I'm guessing I add more wishes.
- Fully Adjustable LOP and Comb on demand,
- Non-Pistol Grip option
- Made for Semi Auto or Pump Action but I want to focus on the Semi's.
- Has Modular Forend with built in rail option
- Arca or Pict mounts for Tripod use
- easy takedown for changing barrels and grips quickly
- folding stock would be neat too

So I want it all, the 1301 and M4 are the closest but I still think there could be much simpler options and not limiting them 20" tactical barrels. The TSK is what I would want but for a Semi Auto. Instead of trying to learn how to fit yourself to your dad or big brother's shotgun, you could just have the setting marked and not have to go find your spacers and all the tools needed for takedown. Benelli Vinci has the closet and fastest option I have seen yet but I still want the adjustable stock like the TSK.
Why can't I shoot a turkey in the morning, clear rooms in the afternoon, and bet on some sporting clays in the evening without having to bring 3 shotguns? Although, it's a great excuse to own 3 shotguns, I feel like if the M1 20 ga had a modular stock and forend than I wouldn't be looking for a compact solution and I'd just give my kid that and tell him it will work on anything he's hunting in this country. Paper, Clay or fowl. Instead I'm not satisfied with the Mossberg 510 Bantam, think there has to be a better solution than the cut down 20ga savage pump my dad learned how to shoot with. Or to duck hunt in the morning with a plug and snow goose hunt in the evening without it and a mag extension.

As much as I was thinking AR chassis I was also thinking AI, CADEX, MPA, MDT chassis systems. Fabarm has most of it figured out for the pump action 12 gauge. Cadex has a good start with the 870 forend. Strike Industries pretty much nailed the forend solution, I love the heat shield addition on there's. But who can put it all together like the Cadex Lite Strike System where I could take any Model 1100/1187/Clone and drop it into the chassis? Could you imagine dropping your Remi, benelli or Beretta or the most cloned actions into a magnesium AI Chassis, because I can't stop dreaming about it. They solved the Model 700 and most of the 870, let's take on the semi autos, and my gosh with the price of shotguns going they way they are, having my gunsmith clean up an action and throwing it into a chassis might be cheaper than going to buy the next M2 or M4. How many Remington 700 actions were purchased used, trued, rebarreled and dropped into name your brand here?
Alright, I'm going to see if I can have some actual dreams instead of staying up not finding this shotgun unicorn.

Well no chassis but found a close solution then a company who has pretty much nailed it, I think. Might have to give them a call.

I recently obtained the Beretta 1301, but will not have the budget for that sweet embellishment for a while. I have a Henry X as well. Cannot afford the awesome Ranger Point Precision tactical goodies for that one, either.

Funny that's how this started for me. I grabbed the Henry X in 410 on a deal shortly after they came out. Said it would be for my kids. Took it and shot sporting clays, now that's an experience working a lever while trying to get to the 2nd bird. Quickly realized that will be great for turkey and squirrels for kids but not until they are older. Grabbed my BIL's circuit judge and did the same. Too complicated and too much recoil for what you put in the air in my opinion.
Tried the Tuffy 410, now a buddy of mine with a snake problem has it. Then grabbed a 510 bantam in 20ga, Both guns do exactly what they advertise but there is just no weight to them so too much recoil for kids under 12/13ish.
So I'm back to square 1. I'm going to take my dad's old cut down savage and my 8 year old and see how he does with the 26" 20 ga. It will work, plenty of us learned how to shoot on cut down stocks or guns too big for us. Butttttt if money were no object and my cousin and I started with the Chisel Machining 20ga setup on a A300 it could have saved some time and might actually be the best solution to multiple smaller shooters sharing a shotgun at the range or at the farm. We do this with the MP22. Move from kids to adults with ease just by adjusting LOP.
Now I really want to try this in 20ga.

That is absolutely beautiful. It doesn't look like 12" LOP or something I want anyone under 25 using afield. But gosh darn that grain is gorgeous.
