Short barreled 6.5 saum/prc

20" 1:7.5" 6.5SS w. TBAC Ultra 7.

I run a few hunting loads in mine.
156 @ 3001fps run hot w. N565, .3gr off max load. Brass won't last long at these speeds, 3 firings tops.
144 LR Hyb @ 3065fps w. N565, 1gr off max at just under 3100fps. Brass has been fine with 3 firings so far.
129 AH @ 3161fps w. H4350, 2gr off max. Hit 3250 before pressure. Only 2 firings on brass so far.

My weekend steel load (to save brass life) is a 144 LR Hyb @ 2959fps or 156 EOL @ 2899fps.
 
I built my Dad an 18" 6.5 PRC on a defiance action with a Carbon six barrel. Only did a little bit of testing so far but I was able to get the 123gr AH to 3107 using StaBall 6.5 before I started getting faint ejector marks on the brass.
 
This thread should be called "how to turn your 6.5prc down to 6.5 creedmoor speeds".

Don't take it personal fellas, I couldn't resist. I also hate having 32" of combined barrel length, but man I don't want to give up the velocity.

I took my saum to 16" and am getting a safe and accurate 2960 with 142s
Little better than creed velocities..
