Scope Recomendations light weight, high magnification, and under 2300!

I have a light weight hunting rifle coming and would like to get recommendations on a new scope. I have up to 2300 budget. Shot ranges are from 100-1100 yards and I'll be packing/stalking half of the time.

The caliber will be a 300 win mag.

You might be able to pick up a lightly used Vortex AMG for that build. I'm currently running one on a 7WSM and for a lightweight optic that is FFP, it's hard to beat. If SFP is what you're after, then a NF NXS might fit the bill and bring you in under budget.

Vx6 hd 4-24 might fit the bill. 23 oz, 34 mil tube, really excellent glass. $2000 or so retail

I was going to recommend the Leupold Mark 4 (I have 6 or 7) until I looked at the unit 257tony recommended. If I get a new scope the Vx6 will definitely get serious consideration. I have always had good luck with Leupold products, although the clicks on some of my Mark 4's are a little soft and "spongy". I have one Huskemaw (decent glass, crisp "clicks") but don't really like the 1/3 moa adjustments. I have a Swarovski X5 that is absolutely incredible in virtually every way, and lighter than the Nightforce and Schmidt and Bender products, but it is over your price point.

The Nightforce products are to heavy for me and I have never been impressed with any of the Vortex products, but to be fair haven't really looked at them in the last year or so.

I like 257tony's recommendation, but have no personal experience with that specific scope........so not sure if the "spongy" click problem I have with the Mark 4's is also a characteristic in that scope.

I would and have gone with the Nightforce. Either the NXS (as I have) or SHV. If you stick to the 10 power max, which is all that's needed to 1000 yards, you have 20 oz. Same as the Leupold VX6-HD. You also get bullet proof turrets and overall strength of the scope. I agree that the bigger Nightforces are too heavy. The 10 powers make a delightful hunting scope that is tough as nails.

Leupold now has a coating that makes them better in lowlight situations than years past.

I have two of them, and i do like them. They check all the boxes except eye box and the fine reticles which get hard to see towards dark.

Yeah I looked hard at the March but the reticles killed it for me. I wasn't able to see the dot under 12 power which made the reticle unusable for me at lower mags

I have a Vortex Razor HD LH 3-15X42 with the HSR-4 MOA reticle, it sits on my 6.5Cm and has worked flawlessly out to 1000 metres for me. Clicks are solid and audible, glass is excellent, and it is light weight. I am very happy with mine.
