I have the opportunity to buy one of two scopes. This is for a 7MM-08. General shooting and plinking and longish range deer hunting. First is a new Burris Veracity 4-20 with the capped target knobs. The other is a Leupold VX3L 4.5-14x50. This one is as new in the box with the alumina Leupold flip covers. The Veracity would cost me $100 more than the Leupold. Disregarding the FFP/SFP and 1"/30mm tube, what are your arguments for one over the other? Quality of construction, glass, durability warranty/service?

If the glass is equal I would go with the 20X because I like higher magnification when working up loads and occasionally using it to verify I want to shoot an animal I found.

I have the Veracity 4-20x50 and a VX3. Both are very nice. If I had to give up one, it would be the VX3. Mainly because the Veracity has all the current features (SFP, MOA recital, zero stop, side parallax ). It's hard to say which is better glass. You won't be disappointed with light transmission on either.

It boils down to personal preference and individual eye sight/condition for end-user's intended purpose. I am a long time Leupold fan but I my old eyes gives the to advantage Burris.
