Check out the Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56 - outstanding eyebox and clear and bright. Minox ZP5 5-25x56 also going to be in that price point and offer excellent glass but you have to deal with shipping to Germany if something goes awry.

Add a zero both those!

All joking aside I would definitely look at the swfa. That being said you will need to buy used for that price and I would look hard at the gen 2 as they have zero stops if you are going to be dialing in shots at all and don't want to try to remember where zero was.
