Sorry but I also have a question about may savage. I'm planning on re barreling my LRP in 6.5 creedmoor. It shoots good but would like a 22 creedmoor. So is mine a Large or small shank? Any other calibers you guys would suggest??

Large shank. I have one too. The target actions with heavy barrels are large shank.
I would like to make mine into a 6BR.

I dunno, I think the article said 55 grain pills went 4200 in the accuracy load.

My Savage LRP in 260 Remington was a Large Shank. I replaced my shot out barrel with a Criterion from Northland Shooters in an 8 twist 6.5x47 which shoots exceptionally well.

Had to look that one up. Most info I could find was years old. Another dust in the wind.

Re barrel to a 6 BR Norma . Just a tack driver and so easy to load for . Most bench shooters will have at least 1 6 Br to go with there 6 PPC . Just my two cents
