Ok I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk stainless Hunter. It has the Ruger proprietary scope mounting system on it. I plan on using this gun as just a side arm most of the time for pigs and varmints but I have a friend that keeps telling me I can mount a scope on it and sight it in and take the scope off the pistol via loosening the rings from the gun and then latter I can remount the rings and scope for a longer shot and it will still be sighted in. I know in theory this may work but I just do not see how the scope could set the exact same every time. I will probably just end of trying it but I thought I would ask first. Will it work ???
