Ruger Precision Barrel will fit on a Ruger American in a Magpul stock?

I normally hunt with a Ruger American 308 in a Magpul stock. I recently got bit by the long range shooting bug, and I would like to keep a rifle close to my 308. I have a Ruger American 6.5 CM in a magpul stock. I am able to bang steel at 950 yards, but the hornady 140 start flying all over the place after that. My brother has a RPR 6.5 that he took of and replaced with a high end barrel. I am thinking it should fit in my 6.5 Thoughts?

Welcome to the Form!

The barre off the RPR will not fit your Ruger American. The way the barrel is locked to the receiver is completely different.

I am sure a smith could remedy the difference. But if you are going to that trouble might as well go with a custom barrel.
