Ruger American Predator stock upgrade

I recently purchased a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM. I would like to replace the stock with either a Magpul Hunter or and Oryx Chassis. Does anyone have experience with either of these? Which would you recommend or something else entirely?

I am mainly wanting to have the ability to use AICS magazines. I didn't know until after I purchased the rifle that there are models that have the capability to use them. Is it possible to just swap out the assembly? The parts are listed but don't see the capability to order them.

McMillan has a drop in ready carbon fiber Game Warden combo. Comes with the M5 DBM. No major increase to weight and much better than factory stock. If you’re hunting with it that would be my choice.

I'v an Oryx, it's heavy, but it doesn't bother me, 6'3 265lbs and dropping, but the again I transport in a rifle pack! I'd use try the Magpul before the Oryx if you're into a lighter weight?

I don’t know the weight comparison between the oryx and the magpul but I wouldn’t say the magpul is light, yes it’s polymer but it’s a thick polymer and there is a long aluminum chassis inside of it for rigidity. I wouldn’t say it’s light by “the people’s” standards on here. Then again, I too am not concerned about weight within reason.

I've handled a magpull stock in a store. I wasn't that impressed with it. I think the forend is not stiff enough.

I put an mdt chassis on a rem 700 . They have some good options that are lighter than magpul and good prices depending on what you get

I've placed a Rem 700 6.5 CM 24" into a Magpul Hunter. I like it and it is certainly less expensive than other options. It is a very nice setup and comes in at 8 lb minus the scope, but also with a 20 MOA pic rail & Magpul's bottom kit to enable AICS mags.

With numerous rifles & shotguns, some in chassis systems, I've recently become more prudent in my expenditures. If you only own several rifles I'd suggest you buy the very best & lightest stock that you can afford. While a bottom magazine is a nice feature, ask yourself, how many times on a hunt have you every needed more than several rounds to take your game. One shot, one kill is my hunting mantra.

I bought a MagPul for my RA-P but my go to factory ammo and a couple of other brands of ammo would not feed reliably from the magazine. Plenty of other factory ammo would feed just not my favorites. So back to the OEM stock, not what I preferred, but the rifle shoots 1/2 MOA as issued. I'm not inclined to make a change and endure feeding issues in the bargain.
I will admit I never fired the rifle in the MagPul Hunter stock. It may have retained it's accuracy, but if I want to hunt with a single shot rifle, I'll take my Browning B-78.

I bought this Bell & Carlson a soon as I learned they were available. It uses the factory magazines, which I have no problem with. On a hunting rig I prefer the smooth lines of feel of the rifle with the flush fit magazines. Still a 1/2 MOA rifle, now with much sturdier furniture, and it feeds all ammo with no issues.

I just re-read your original posting and see you want to use AICS style mags, ok then. If you change your mind I highly recommend the B&C.
