Ruger American Rebarrel

Ordered a McGowen 284 win gap barrel in a Shilen #5 contour 24” long 1-8.5 twist. Hoping to put it on a Ruger American LA .30-06 that I currently have. Planning to to put the action in a Bell and Carlson Medalist and inlet the stock to accept the PTG LA bottom metal for AICS. Probably not the most conventional platform to build off especially since the RAR long actions don’t have much after market support. Anyone have any experience with the PTG bottom metal?

You can get them factory chambered in 7-08. The aftermarket support for the SA is much better too
