Ruger American Gen 2 6mm arc

Picked up a gen 2 American in 6mm arc over the weekend. Can't find much on it. Anyone else have one. How's the feeding and what ammo or loads have you tried?

They just released them maybe 6 weeks ago. I saw my first 1 yesterday at Sportsman's.

I am probably going to get 1 at some point, 6mm ARC is a cool little round.

I agree didn't want to go the ar route. The ruger seemed to be the best for the money. Should make a awesome coyote gun and youth deer rifle.

I don't have a 6mm Arc but have a
223 in Ruger American and shoots very well.

My 12yr old son and I built an AR upper in 6mm ARC for him, and honestly it is one of my favorite to shoot.

It seems like a sweet little cartridge. Can't wait to get some dies and start loading

Expect you will really like the 6mm ARC. I have used a howa Mini & a CZ 527 barreled to a 22" 6mm ARC.

108 gr Elite hunter has been one of my better cup & core loads over 29.4 gr of LVR. Also have done well with 87 gr Absolute Hammer over 8208 XBR. Last season I was liking the 90 gr CX over CFE 223. With the 103 gr ELDX I had my best luck with PP 2000.

Starline is my preferred brass thus far.

Keep us posted how the Ruger feeds & otherwise performs for you.

Took it to the range not long ago. Feeds amazing actually. Just shot at steel will do more testing when I get a set of dies

Still a bit anxious to hear how folks are liking this package. Anyone know what's available for 5 round mags or less than 5 rounds? If I had one Id like to use her for deer hunting. Anything more than a 5 round mag would make this package a ineligible offering as we are limited to 5 rounds max capacity in the mag while hunting.

Any of the 5 round 6.5 Grendel mags will work just fine. These are the ones I like.

I have handled 1 and liked it for what it is, but have not pulled the trigger yet on buying one.

I have other projects to finish first.
