Not the bullet you are asking about but a buddy has a MKv in 257 and loads 100 gr ttsx with RL 26 and it's a frigging lazer beam. He get 3800fps and levelled 2 elk last year. The farethest one was 630 yd.

You should be safe at 67-68gr and go up from there.

When you do work up your load with the 115 Bergers please report back here.

Four of my friends and I have 257 Weatherby customs and shoot the 115 Berger. One uses H1000, three use RL-25 and I use RL-33.

will do. I started at 66 but was only hitting 3000 fps. Was only doing seating depth. I bump up 2 grains and started going up from there to find my charge. Will see where that puts me. Went 68-70. This is a friends gun that I'm playing with to decide if I want a 257 for my son or not. So won't get too crazy. With my gun I think I'd like to try IMR7977. Been really pleased with there enduron powders

I tried RL 26 in my 257 vanguard with the 117 gr Sierra GK. Worked to a max of 71 grs using a Fed 215. Vel was 3375 ft/sec and just under MOA. I started at 65 grs and worked up.

Max load was 70.5 grains. Had a good node 69-70. 69.5 printed clover leaf groups @ 100 at 3260. ES of 2
COAL 3.450

Just wish it was a tad faster

21, we tried several powders with 115 Bergers in 3 different .257Wbys. All three were crazy accurate with H1000. IMR7828SSC was second but we had some temp issues with that. Great Coues deer caliber here in Arizona. Good luck

I've nearly shot out a 257, done lots of different loads. 7828 and h1000 seem to be ideal burn rates I never tried 7977, I thought it too slow and would use too much case capacity but it might work

IMR 7977 is very close to H1000 maybe just a touch faster the one time I tested it in my 6.5X300WSM showed potential.

Just took out our new 257 bee yesterday for the 1st range test. It is a 24" barrel 7" twist and running 128g Hammer Hunters at 3244fps comfortably. Loaded with 7828ssc. Shot well out to 875y. Ran a total of 18 rounds of which 10 were for load development and the other 8 were to zero then shoot the 875y rock. This one will be doing some elk hunting this fall.

This is our 1st experience with the 257 bee but can say that the 7828 worked up very consistently and predictably.
