Rem 760 question

So a friend has a 40-50 year old Rem 760. I tried to take apart but couldn't. Took to local gunsmith. He got it apart. It had never been cleaned but hunted with every year since bought new.
Two pins holding the 2 piece bolt keep falling out. Should they hold or does this mean they are worn out?

I can tell you that mine fall out also when taking it apart to clean.....assuminng 7600 and 760 have same bolt carrier.
