Rem 700P 338 lapua. Is the barrel too short? Anybody have experience with this one?

I found a deal on an almost new rem 700P 338lm to match my 308. However, is that barrel too short to be effective at its intendeding range? Anybody have experience or helpful input before I "pull the trigger" on this deal. ;-). Man, I'm funny! Thanks!

Does it have the factory 26" barrel? That's a good length for all-around use.

Measure it to be sure. A guy here in town has one that's got a 20 or 22" Bbl on it.

26" is enough to get the job done but you won't get the velocities you'd get with a longer barrel and the same powders.
