Just finished setting up a new Remington 700 action chambered in .223 Rem, heavy 26" tube, Boyd's varmint thumbhole stock stock, TriggerTech 1.4lb trigger, CVLife bipod, KAK linear compensator, Arken EP 5-25x56 glass on a 20MOA Pic rail. Will be changing the medium scope rings to low ones for getting closer to the bore. Blind magazine is fitted with a single feed follower. Needed to Dremel out the fore stock a bit to fully free float the bbl, then wicked in water thin CYA to seal all cut and sanded wood. Length is 47.75" with an unloaded weight of 14lbs 3ozs. Loading up CCI BR4 primed Lapua brass with graduated charges of Varget and N140 for sighting in at 100 yards with Berger 80 grain bullets, with a final target distance goal of 800 yards come Spring.

I think you'll find 800 pretty easy, doesn't take a 338 to shoot to a mile😎 ENJOY

Stock removed (and up for sale at the LRH classifieds), replaced with a Magpul Pro 700 Lite in FDE ... pics will be posted here.

What twist is the tube? Most 700's come with a 12 or 14 twist tube. That makes 800 much more difficult.

I'd never have a .223 with less than a 1:8 rifling twist and that's what this Rem 700 bbl has, perfect for 70 grain Berger VLDs.
