Reloading .20 Practical

Quite a few years ago, I purchased an AR15 barrel in cal. .20 Practical. Bought everything I needed but never loaded any ammo for it. Have lots of once-fired Lake City brass. Now i am ready to try my hand. Haven't reloaded anything in many years but all my stuff is still like new. Anyone here shooting this caliber? Where should I start with this caliber? I will look and see what powders, primers, and bullets I bought for this project.

Do you have the Dies?
Also what brass are you using to neck down the .223 to .204.

40 gr VMax with H4198, IMR 4895 or N133 @ 3,900 fps will give great groups and great performance on varmints.

6mmbr has a couple good bits on the 20s, including write ups on the 20 prac. Load data, etc, is listed.

Haven't done the prac, but it's super easy. I made a bunch of 20tac cases for a guy but I still.havent owned a 20 of my own. Living in MD, it's been a while since I shot a prairie dog, let alone enough of them to justify a 20.

Basically someone came out with the 20 Practical because not having a selection of Brass for the .204R. The .223 Brass is EVERYWHERE so you can just neck down and have a .204 with Lapua Brass using a .223 FL Die with neck Bushings is simple.
I wish that Lapua would Stand up and make .204R Brass but not yet.
We bought our .204R in 2004. It was in a Ruger 77 MarkII with a 26" Heavy Varmint Barrel. Ruger called it the Ruger 77 Mark II TARGET GREY with a Laminated Stock. We bought it for a special deal from Bass Pro for $400.00. After I tunned it up it shot 0.0156 MOA. with SBK 39gr on top of H-4895. After a while we changed it to an MDT Chassis and it is still the NUTS!!! for Chucks and PD.
GO FOR IT AND LOAD UP THAT 20 PRATICAL. Let us know how you do.

Where can I get step by step case forming and reloading instructions? It's been over 40 years since I reloaded anything and that was 44Mag which was about as easy as can get. Not sure where to start. Now I am de-capping and tumbling lots of brass that I have to get ready.
Maybe I should have bought a Ruger 204 barrel.

A good start would be 20 Tactical load data which is in the Hornady 9th Edition manual.
Reloder 10X works well.
