I got a Mossberg 835 that I use for turkey.Hell I only paid 230.00 for it.The gun kills at both ends with a 3 1/2 inch.I tryed replacing it with a Browning Gold ultmit turkey hunter. But no dice.I got rid of the Browning. But My question is.Wat red dot scope would handle the pounding that gun dishes out.I am going to start shooting 3 inch.I was given a tru glow red dot.But I dont think it could handle the strain. Now I hope I dont have to pay a truck load for one.But does anyone have any suggestions? Plz let me know.Thanx

Sorry, I cannot help you with the Red Dots. I am a scope guy myself.

But rather than switching to a 3" shell have you considered getting a Lead Sled for patterning? I have one and it actually makes shooting a lot more enjoyable. You can spend a morning experimenting with turkey loads and not come away with the bruises.

I was going to the 3 inch so it would be easier on the scope.Plus now I got 3 bulging discs in my neck.So I figured a step down would be a good thing. And yes I been wanting one of those its on my wish list:)

It sounds like you have something similar to what my brother-in-law has. Definitely not fun.

I have played around with the 3" H-13 7's a little. The 3" shells give me about 17% less hits at 40 yards than the 3.5", but they can still put up some good numbers.

Overall, I figured the 3.5" extended my max range by a couple of yards, so I decided to stick with them.

Good luck with the Red Dot.
